It's true, I've not sewn a stitch for....I think it's been nearly two months, AGES!.....and the half-cut Soho Coat STILL sits on my kitchen table. Which means no one has had a sit-down meal in the kitchen all that time either. (no formal dining room in this house)
But hey, it's SPRINGTIME! What I HAVE been doing is gardening. And clutter-clearing and sorting through crap-I-mean-treasures. And the other stuff of life.
But not sewing.
Just as a way of staying connected with my (cherished!) sewing community, I'd like to share a few pics showing some of the fruits of my labors in the dirt (and to prove that I'm still alive, still here!)

Maybe, now that I've done a blog post, I'll finally find my way back into the sewing room? It's just so EASY to get lost in the garden, and I'm loving getting back into the habit of taking my morning tea out for a garden stroll.
And now I'm off to see if I can catch up on a bit of blog reading (which I'm also way....way....behind on.....)

Oh, gee, I can understand why you love it there! I've seen your posts on Facebook and how you've mentioned the garden, but had no idea!! You'll get back to sewing when the time is right. :)
ReplyDeleteYour garden is lovely....just lovely:) Thanks for sharing. Here in Wisconsin we are still deciding on the season. A few brave daffodils and tulips poked their heads out of the earth but are now having second thoughts the poor dears.....I know just how they feel - lol

ReplyDeleteYour garden is lovely, no wonder you got lost out there! :) We are jsut this week finally getting some gardening weather. I got my new herb garden started, and hubby is working on the grass, but that is about it. Don't worry about sewing, the desire will come in it's own time. Everything waxes and wanes. :) Glad to hear you are doing so well!
ReplyDeleteThere's only one of you and you can't do everything! Your gorgeous garden is obviously a creative outlet too. Don't feel guilty for it dominating over sewing for the moment. Plants won't wait but fabrics will!

Hey Jilly, I've missed 'hearing' from you also, and had hoped all was ok. I'm glad you've been spending time in the garden. I find it so therapeutic.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos Jilly-thanks. My mini daffodils are blooming, the violas are starting to bloom in rock crevices though not yet showing in the lawn,and my japanese irises are coming back strongly. We had snow today and it was around 35F. I certainly miss the Bay area weather at times.

ReplyDeleteOh you have such beautiful flowers. I'd be hanging out with them too. I love the ruffled edges of your tulips, and the colour of that iris.... lovely. My daffodils are still hiding their blooms, the only colour I have are hyacinthe.
